UCSC IEEE-HAM Field Day 2003

Sabieng Dinner:
Mouth watering ideas we discussed:
- HAM tests scheduled for Thursday evening, not Friday evening.
- Tactical net should be first thing established. Agreed upon simplex and repeaters should be chosen before hand.
- Antenna raising requires minimum eight people. These eight people should absolutely be present during setup.
- More antennas should be planned, besides the main beam and whatever is used for the other main stations. 160 meters is a possible goal (raised possibly by balloon?)
- Relationship and rapport with the fire department should be established throughout the year, not a week before field day. Cap, KE6AFE, has experience with this.
- A prerequisite of 15wpm minimum at morse code should be a requirement for those wanting to make CW contacts *coughkf6ywocoughkg6not*
- Keep an eye out for equipment to use next year, especially rigs and antennas.
